The darkness has me in its sinister clutches.
I hide in it, for I fear the LORD, but also society.
I hide in the darkness for my sins, alcoholism, and my drug addictions.
I hide in the darkness for the shame that my deeds will be revealed.
Only you are HOLY, LORD. All others pretend.
You can call us to you, into your marvelous light.
It is not that you have turned your face away from us, but that we hide in the darkness from your face.
If I only knew what treasures await for me in the paradise of your LIGHT; I would work tirelessly to shed myself of this darkness. You have called us into your Holy Light. So I come even though I might burn up and die in shame.
My destiny is to see the face of YA, even though for only a moment before I perish. For what a great event it will be to see the face of the creator of all things. For who can stand before God and not perish with shame?
So I shed the darkness and stand in his Holy Light.
I see HIS FACE but I am not burned up, as my sins are burned away.
For it is the Christ who stands in my place,
and allows me to survive.
He has overcome death, and He has given this to me also: LIFE EVERLASTING.
AMEN.
