PAST DARKNESS AND PRESENT LIGHT
All that I was, my sin, my guilt,
my death was all my own.
All that I am I owe to thee,
my gracious God, alone.
The evil of my former state
was mine and only mine.
The Good in which I now rejoice,
is thine and only thine.
The darkness of my former state,
The bondage, all was mine.
The light of life in which I walk,
the liberty is thine.
LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON
Be good, and if you can’t be good,
name it after me.
SHADOWS
Never follow, always lead. Therefore,
be the body, not the shadow.
HURTING
The pain will leave you, when it’s done teaching you.
FREE ME
God! Am I born for this,
to wear this slavish chain?
Deprived of all created bliss,
through hardship, misery and pain?
THE DEBT
This is the debt I pay,
just for one crazy day.
Years of regret and grief,
sorrow without relief.
Pay it I will to the end,
until the grave, my friend.
Gives me a true release,
the feeling of peace.
Lies was the things I bought,
small was the debt I thought.
Your hand was the loan at best,
God! Thank you for this debt.
