There once was a wolf that loved a turtle, strange you say? Indeed, theirs was a type of love that seemed odd to others, yet to them it could be no other way… It all started one day as wolf came upon turtle at the beach, “How strange a creature you are”, said wolf, “No fur not feet to run.”
“I’m strange?”, said turtle, “You are always howling at the moon and you don’t even swim.” Strange to one another, yet day after day wolf would come join turtle at the waters edge, and they would talk and laugh and just enjoy each others company. The day came when turtle had to leave for the seasons changing, and both wolf and turtle found that this saddened them.
“Turtle”, said wolf, “Whenever you go, if you come to the waters surface when the moon is at its highest, you’ll hear my song of love for you.”
„Wolf”, said turtle, “Whenever you come across a seashell on the shore, listen to it, for I shall whisper my loving words to them so that they may carry them to you.”
Wolf and turtle said their goodbyes, and hoped for a quick spring to come…
Funny the tales of a love are sometimes mysterious as well, yet beautiful all the same. If you’re ever out at night when the moon is at its highest, you might just hear wolf singing his love song to turtle out at sea, and, should you ever listen to a seashell upon the beach, you might also catch turtles soft words echoing through it. Just remember to put the seashell back where you found it, wouldn’t want to make wolf sad.
