A GENERATION WITHOUT SCREENS

In a time before constant connection,
Our childhoods were free from online perfection,
No cell phones, no social networks to distract,
We lived our lives without the need to react.

We’d spend our days outside in the sun,
Playing games, laughing and just having fun.
We’d run and jump, climb trees and play,
Our imaginations would lead the way.

Our friendships were made in person,
Not online where they can worsen,
We talked and laughed and shared our dreams,
No need for screens to bridge the seams.

We read books, wrote letters, draw and painted,
Crafted stories, built things, never fainting,
Our minds were free to wonder and explore,
In a world without distraction, we found more.

Our memories were stored in our minds,
No need for likes or comments to remind,
The moments we shared with each other,
Are still as vivid as when we were younger.

Oh, the days of growing up without,
The need for screens and digital clout,
May we remember the joys of that time,
And cherish them as we move down the line.
