Time is ticking away
I’m cherishing every moment
But I am also dreading the day
When we will only be Platonic
I fear when that day finally comes
A part of me that belongs to you will surely suffer
To never again hear you say „I love you“ or
Call me endearing names
No longer to express our love for one‘ other
The fires that burn within me
Will be choked up from the lack of espression
fire such as this should not be contained
But free to burn into ash
For true love, I always believed would conquer all
Burning down walls of tradition
Burning free, Burning beautifully
But for us it seems
That fire will never burn as bright as it could be
For we keep it locked away in shame
In the dark
Why hide what was so naturally and beautifully built?
Why hide a work of art?
So with every moment with you, every call, every message
I hold it dear to my heart
Never wanting to let go
Never wanting to forget
For I knew when that day comes
I’d probably fall apart.
