I’ve waited
my whole life to find
love,
peace,
joy,
companionship,
prosperity,
acceptance,
you,
my Self –
You’ve waited
this whole time for me
to express my
feelings,
interest,
gratitude,
appreciation,
love,
intentions,
dreams –
Mother, Father, Sister, Brother, Lover, Friend, Lord
I’m sorry…
While striving to rise, I fell
even now I fail.
I wanted you to know
that I’ve always
loved,
needed,
adored,
esteemed,
desired,
cherished, and
revered you.
I never did know
exaclty what to say
until the moment indignantly
turned its back and strutted away.
Many times my tongue was slammed
in the window of opportunity,
while my heart plead
with me to open it up,
to lift the pain,
to lift the pain.
Skillfully swimming
in a wide open sea of diction,
I somehow found myself
lost
without a buoy and weighed down by words unspoken.
Right now, I just want you to know
that I um…
that you uh…
I guess I need to know
