18 years in a fish bowl, I swim from wall to wall
A sea awaits me, I pray to the almighty whale above for forgiveness
In a school filled with the most colorful characters I mostly see the blues
We choose with few options, I swam to a fork in the road,
never weighed pro’s or con’s, my heart choose the right way,
but the right way was wrong
But on this road or rough waves, I was trained by Snypa,
entertained by AJ, had meetings of the mind with bank$,
bonded with Butt Naked, White Boy and Dub Mack,
swam laps with real ones like Deon and Tidy Man,
to all the barbers I shaved scales with, Luh Tho…
I can only pray that the young get the lessons I got,
let’s swim in harmony.
There’s power in numbers, I wonder what if we all swam to the top
Went left and right, hard as we can, made the tank rock,
would they see us as more than just the colors on our backs?
What if we took advice from piranhas, all started to attack …
Thoughts from the depths of the bowl,
put my brain on pause and spoke directly from the soul
They can hold my physical but my energies free,
for those reading this now, I am you and you are me
Embrace the power of love, allow peace to exist
But, what do I know, I’m just “HAMP”, the neon tetra fish …
