When I close my eyes
I hear the seagull cries
Underneath my feet, the soft sand lies
So close to the ocean
I feel the waves in motion
And the sweet smell of suntan lotion
With the gulls riding the breeze
That moment in time, I will freeze
Later on, from my mind I will seize
With the sun upon my nose
And the sand between my toes
My mind drifts off too, no one knows
It’s not only a place for fun
Or a place to get some sun
I’m not here to preach
There’s lots to learn at the beach
Lots of life it has to teach
All that could be taught
If only you had sought
I just thought, maybe you ought.
