They go to school and pick on the girl with the coke bottle framed glasses. They push her and call her names. They say she’s ugly and no one likes her… They don’t realize she’s being abused at home and scared to speak out she accepts the abuse as normal life alone she cries wishing for a better life… They didn’t know they could have saved her with one kind word…
At school they steal a boys lunch tray and call him a pig because he’s overweight they push and hit him as others look on laughing at his expense. The bullies don’t realize the school meals is all he gets his mother is dying of cancer and can’t work. They don’t realize he eats all he can at school because the shelves at home are bare. They don’t realize he’ll end up in foster care because his mom will soon pass. It could easily be one of their own family members who get cancer.
They make fun of the girl with holes in her pants and knock her books out of her hand. She cries out to the world for kindness… for help… The bullies didn’t know her mom lost her job and her dad uses all their money on alcohol she doesn’t even have a decent jacket for the winter.
They steal a boys watch and tell him that he doesn’t deserve nice things, the boy fights back the watch is dropped and broken… The boy cries… The bullies say, “It’s just a stupid watch…” They didn’t know that was the only gift his father gave him before his father died.
Before you become a bully take a step back and realize you are a child who knows nothing of others personal lives unless you reach out and ask. Be kind to others. You could save a life. You could make a friend… You could be someone’s hero. Only you can decide who you want to be. You want to be popular, be kind to others. The world could use more positive people. My son is 15 years old. I’m in prison I’ve not been there his whole life. Bullies don’t know… The next classmate you see, smile and wave. Say hi to someone you haven’t talked to. Make a friend. Don’t be a bully.
