As I gaze at the sky to find a star
I can’t imagine how so far
Its light is all so bright
All I can see in the dead of night
As the moon begins to wane
I see more and more just the same
One by one they come into view
How many, I haven’t a clue
I stare with awe and wonder
As I stand here from down under
I see one shoot across the sky
My oh my, how fast they fly
Nights like these are a gift to remember
On a cool quiet night in September
Next time you see a cloudless night with no moon
Head on out or it’ll be all gone too soon
On nights with nothing to do
You can sit back and enjoy the view
