Some are dark and some are bright
They come to me in the middle of the night
Some are short and some are long
Write them down before they’re gone
If the words do not rhyme
Do not worry, take your time
They can be read far and wide
Some may even make you cry
Some may laugh and some may joke
Some may even make you choke
They are written to make you feel
Not so bad and all so real
If you’re not in any rush to be somewhere
Read a poem before you’re there.
