I am from America. Where growing up you are taught to recite the Pledge of Allegiance every morning in grade school. From what I remember, I had to put my right hand over my heart, and say out loud „I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic, for which it stands. One nation, under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.“
I took that pledge to the heart, and believed in it to the point that I put my life, and trust in the Judicial system. Believing that Justice would prevail and my innocence would be proven. In my case that didn’t happen because the truth and the facts didn’t matter. All that mattered was a conviction being handed down. I still believe justice will prevail because I trust in God, and I have faith that he will bring the truth to the light and so help me God, the truth shall set me free.
I know I got my work cut out for me, but I want you to know this: anything worth having comes with hard work. Signing off for now.
🔴 Ich komme aus Amerika. Dort lernt man als Kind jeden Morgen in der Grundschule den Treueschwur aufzusagen. Soweit ich mich erinnere, musste ich meine rechte Hand auf mein Herz legen und laut sagen: „Ich gelobe Treue zur Flagge der Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika und zur Republik, für die sie steht. Eine Nation, unter Gott, unteilbar, mit Freiheit und Gerechtigkeit für alle.“
Ich nahm mir dieses Gelöbnis zu Herzen und glaubte so fest daran, dass ich mein Leben und mein Vertrauen in das Justizsystem setzte. Ich glaubte, dass die Gerechtigkeit siegen und meine Unschuld bewiesen werden würde. In meinem Fall war das nicht so, weil die Wahrheit und die Fakten keine Rolle spielten. Das Einzige, was zählte, war eine Verurteilung, die ausgesprochen wurde. Ich glaube immer noch, dass die Gerechtigkeit siegen wird, denn ich vertraue auf Gott, und ich glaube, dass er die Wahrheit ans Licht bringen wird, und so wahr mir Gott helfe, die Wahrheit wird mich frei machen.
Ich weiß, dass ich noch viel Arbeit vor mir habe, aber ich möchte, dass Sie Folgendes wissen: Alles, was sich zu erreichen lohnt, erfordert harte Arbeit. Ich melde mich jetzt ab.
