One of my favorite memories about my son is when he went with my friend on a roadtrip, from Arizona to New Mexico (Carlsbad, MN Caverns is a must see) and all over Texas. We arrived late at night in Texas, so my son was already sleeping. So I carried him to the guest bed. This house was a loft style upstairs where the two guest rooms were. In the morning my son woke up just before me. He came and woke me up saying: “Mama wake up.” He sounded worried. He was about 7 years old at the time. I told him he could go watch cartoons.
He said: “No Mama, wake up!” again with more concern this time. Now quickly followed by: “Woof”, as he is shaking my shoulder. He went away for a second and this time he is near tears shaking my shoulder frantically saying: “Mama Woof, wake up Mama Woof!” Sleepy eyed I get up to look.
I hugged him, smiled and said: “Aw Julius, this is a Husky dog.” It was the first time he seen one up close. I am sure that her piercing curious stare was even more scary to him. She was trained to not come up the stairs.
