My name is Quintel Flowers. I’m currently incarcerated but I’m no different than anyone who hasn’t been to prison we are all humans and make mistakes. We learn from these mistakes and a big part of life is do we take what we learn and better ourselves or stay as we are.

I’ve learned from mine my past and past mistakes help shape me to the person I am today but it doesn’t define me as a individual darkness is not a bad thing I turn my pain into art. Your journey will have rainy days, and quiet nights, but this time is key to your growth. You’re not required to be the person you were yesterday, evolve. Don’t be ashamed of your growth. Don’t feel guilty for outgrowing people. I enjoy listening to music and writing it unable to record due to my situation I write poems more.
